CDMA phones seem to be almost non-existent nowadays. HTC on the other hand, had different ideas, when they announced the arrival of their new smartphone, the HTC 7 Pro. The main highlight of this smartphone is that it will be powered by Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 Operating System. Surprisingly, it will join HTC’s very small line-up of DMA phones. Although it has not been confirmed, but it is believed that there will be a GSM model of the phone as well.

The main eye catcher in the phone’s design is that the dedicated slide-out and tilt QWERTY keyboard. Other than that, the phone’s dimensions are 117.5 x 59 x 15.5 mm and it weighs a bulky 183.5 g. The heavier weight is due to the physical QWERTY keyboard, and despite it, it still manages to be ergonomic for the pocket. There is an average 3.6-inch TFT touchscreen display, which features a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The Resolution might not be as crisp as some of the other smartphones running Window Phone 7, but it’s enough to satisfy most users. A powerful addition to mobile is its Snapdragon 1GHz power processor.

Windows Phone 7 brings quite some brilliant and innovative features to the HTC 7 Pro. The most distinct of them is the inbuilt integration with Xbox Live, Office Apps and various Social Networking Services. The other innovative features is the new simplified user interface, which features something that Microsoft has termed as “Tiles” which are basically links to various apps and or websites which can be customized by the user.

In terms of multimedia, the HTC 7 Pro features a 5 Mega Pixel Camera with auto focus and a LED Flash, which can also be used as a video light, when recording video at 720p HD.

As It is with all the other phones running Windows Phone 7, there is no expansion slot. Users will have to suffice with the internal user memory of 16 GB.

HTC has included a 1500 mAh Battery to power the HTC 7 Pro and they are confident that it will provide a very impressive standby time and talk time.

In conclusion, the HTC 7 Pro looks to be very productive as well as entertaining. It will face quite some competition from rivals like the Samsung Omnia 7 and the LG Optimus 7, but in the end, might just end up gathering more success than them.
